I am a Consultant in Medical Oncology based in Middlesbrough, UK, with an NHS practice at the South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Most of my NHS patients are seen at the James Cook University Hospital with others at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton. However, private patients have the option of choosing to be seen at either of these sites.
I have vast experience treating patients from the North East of England. The majority of my training was received in the North East where I graduated in Medicine at Newcastle University in 2004. During a one year spell at the Nottingham NHS Trust, I first experienced specialised Oncology medicine and from then, Oncology developed from an interest into a passion.
In August 2013, I completed my Medical Oncology specialist training and became part of the Specialist Register, commencing work as a Consultant in the NHS at James Cook University Hospital in November 2013.
I am now a key representative of the Lung and Gynaecological teams at James Cook University Hospital and supervise chemotherapy treatment for patients, and recruit some into National and International clinical trials.
I also provide palliative chemotherapy to local patients diagnosed with Sarcomas.
I always strive to get access to the newest drugs, as early as possible, even before they are approved on the NHS, to allow patients to get the best possible outcome.
My skills and expertise are certain to ensure you receive the highest quality of care throughout your cancer treatment.
I also carry out Medico-Legal work, working with solicitors who are seeking compensation claims for Mesothelioma patients, specifically discussing treatment options that are not available on the NHS that might provide further benefits for these patients.
